Ducks' Hiller expected to be ready for training camp

When the Anaheim Ducks open training camp next month, they should have Jonas Hiller back between the pipes.

A case of vertigo sidelined the 29-year-old goaltender for most of the second half of last season. He made only two starts after February 2 and was unable to dress for the Ducks' playoff series against the Nashville Predators.

The club announced Friday that Hiller is symptom-free and has been training both on and off the ice for the past month in his native Switzerland.

"I'm very excited about the upcoming season. I'm happy to be feeling better and looking forward to getting back with my teammates. It's been a long process but I feel great, and I'm ready to help this team win," Hiller said.

Prior to the health issues, Hiller displayed a form that resulted in an All- Star selection. He won 26 games with a 2.56 goals-against average, .924 save percentage and a career-high five shutouts in 2010-11.
