Braves' McCann to begin rehab assignment

Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann will A Gwinnett.

McCann has been on the disabled list since July 27 with a strained left oblique he suffered in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates that day.

He exited the contest after a throw to second base in the 10th inning, and was placed on the DL after being evaluated.

McCann is batting a team-leading .306 with 18 home runs and 55 RBI over 91 games this season.
