Bendtner joins Sunderland on loan

Sunderland announced on Wednesday that long loan deal.

The Denmark international has made almost 100 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 22 goals, while also being loaned out to Birmingham for the 2006-07 campaign where he played under current Black Cats boss Steve Bruce.

"I've had the privilege of working with Nicklas previously. I had him as an 18-year-old and he helped clinch promotion for Birmingham," Bruce said.

"He's an outstanding talent and is a big, physical presence who will lead the line magnificently for us."

The 23-year-old's international career includes 12 goals in 38 appearances for Denmark.
