5.1-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Baja California in Mexico

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck at around 10:00 am local time Friday about 118 miles (190 kilometers) southeast of Tijuana, Mexico, in the state of Baja California, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake was centered 32 miles (52 km) southwest of San Luis, Arizona.

Seismologist John Bellini with the National Earthquake Center in Golden, Colo., told the Associated Press that the Center received reports the quake was felt in Southern California and the border region in southwest Arizona including Yuma and San Luis.

There were no immediate reports of injuries of damages, the Associated Press reported.
