This week we have a modern paradise overlooking the Great Barrier Reef, your own Tuscan vineyard and the Malibu mega-mansion of producer Joel Silver.
Ever dream of stepping outside your front door and onto the Great Barrier Reef?
That dream could be a reality if you have $15 million to spend on this modern mansion on the exclusive Hamilton Island off the coast of Queensland, Australia.
The home itself appears to rise directly from the water. It’s an Alice in Wonderland style warren of pools, ponds and streams of water flowing through the interior.
The property also has three swimming pools, including one that nearly encircles the ground level, giving the sense that the home itself extends out to the sea.
Another pool is part of an outdoor barbecue and garden area. A third, deeper plunge pool straddles the line between indoor and outdoor.
“Every level of this house, every turn and every vantage point provides enormous surprise and delight,” said a jury for 2011 National Architecture Awards. “Corners of the house float above the terraced landscape, garden terraces and nooks set into the hillside, which feature natural stone retaining walls and continuing encounters with water pools and ponds.”
The property has three bedrooms, all with stunning ocean views. There are also five bathrooms an outdoor kitchen and barbecue, top-of-the-line lighting and kitchen appliances, a gym and direct waterfront access.
If you consider yourself something of a wine connoisseur, or maybe just a wine snob, this Tuscan estate is the property for you.
The famed 4,200-acre Tuscan estate Castello di Casole, is selling off plots of land that each include 100-160 acres of cultivable vineyard land.
Each plot will come with its own custom-designed luxury farmhouse that can be built from scratch or from the gorgeous existing ruins on the property.
Prices range from $5.85-$9.05 million, depending on the size and location of the farm, said Gary W. Moore, Jr., project director at Castello di Casole.
The farmhouses will range from 5,500 to 12,000 square feet, and will be designed by the architecture team at Castello di Casole.
Don’t know anything about farming? Don’t worry. There’s a team for that.
The estate has employed an agricultural team that will help property owners manage the farms. Owners will also be able to learn cultivation and wine making techniques under famed winemaker Paolo Caciorgna.
The amenities and activities at property’s five-star hotel, the world-famous Hotel Castello di Casole are offered free to farm owners, including a spa and wellness center, swimming pool, bars and restaurants.
If you’ve got a spare $57.5 million laying around you could be the proud new owner of “Matrix” producer Joel Silver’s luxurious Malibu beachfront compound on the Pacific Coast Highway. The home includes five bedrooms, six baths, open living spaces, a chef’s kitchen, a swimming pool with ocean views, a spa, a beautiful courtyard, and a tennis court. In fact, it’s the only home along the celebrity-saturated Carbon Beach to have its very own tennis court. Fancy!
The interior of the home is a blend of cozy with beachfront chic, with interior brick, dark wood floors, beamed ceilings, a welcoming fireplace.
Planning on having a lot of company? You never have to see them. There’s also a detached guest house with two additional bedrooms and baths.
