The White House staffer and former Capitol Hill aide arrested last month for allegedly shooting at her Capitol Police boyfriend was indicted Tuesday by Maryland authorities on charges of first-degree assault, according to Roll Call.

Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks charged Barvetta Singletary with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and the use of a handgun in connection with a violence crime.

Singletary after the arrest was put on unpaid leave from her job as special assistant to President Obama and as House legislative affairs liaison. She is free on a $15,000 bond, but her White House access has been revoked.

Singletary’s attorney, Rosalyn Pugh, was not immediately available for comment, according to Roll Call.

On Aug. 7 Singletary allegedly invited the officer, Reginald Cleveland, to her home. After he refused to answer Singletary’s question about another woman that he was dating or let her see his cell phones, Singletary allegedly reached inside his vehicle, taking two phones and his service weapon.

When Cleveland allegedly refused to give her the phone pass codes, Singletary allegedly fired one round toward him but missed.
