The latest news from Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Major Garrett:

- US officials will hold two briefings today on the situation in Haiti.  1130ET at the State Dept & 1230ET at the Pentagon

- POTUS supports free internet in China; the White House was briefed on Google's announced decision to pullout of China.  Gibbs referred to Obama's support for open internet exchange in townhall in Shanghai last year.

- Healthcare: Gibbs says talks today with Democrats are "key."

- There are no plans for the President to travel to Haiti.  But he will talk to Haitian President Preval and Canadian Prime Minister Harper and other regional leaders later today.

- Looking Ahead:  Thursday at the White House, the President will give remarks on bank fees at 1145ET.  Gibbs says bank executives  should apologize for the financial meltdown, that its the least people could expect. He expressed frustration that banks have gone back to "making risky decisions."

- Update:  Gibbs said, contradicting earlier WH guidance, said Haiti was only reason Obama canceled jobs event in Lanham, MD.

- Gibbs says he "doesn't know why" liberals are less mobilized and motivated this election season than they were in 2008. Said "there is a lot at stake" in the Massachusetts election and in the mid-terms.
