Update: The White House has decided to open up coverage of the bill signing, now scheduled for 4:30pm, BUT to STILL PHOTOGRAPHERS ONLY. Sorry folks, no TV cameras allowed.
As we reported last night, the President will sign the $106 billion supplemental bill funding continuing military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan today.
We'll post the picture here once it's released. Stay tuned.
In addition to the war spending, the bill also provides more than $7.7 billion for pandemic flu programs, including funding for research and manufacture of a vaccine to combat the H1N1 flu virus. It also contains tax incentives for consumers to trade-in aging (at least 8-years old) vehicles for new, fuel efficient cars and trucks, a program known as "cash for clunkers."
