"Principal-level meeting" at White House today to discuss Gulf Coast oil spill

The White House convened another high level meeting today to discuss the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

According to White House spokesman Nick Shapiro, at the request of President Obama, Homeland Security Adviser John Brennan held a principals-level meeting to ensure "that the resources of the federal government are fully integrated" in response to the BP oil leak.

The meeting lasted for more than an hour and participants included: Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Admiral Mike Mullen, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, Rear Admiral Mary Landry, Deputy Secretary of Interior David Hayes, NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco and Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Carol Browner.
