WASHINGTON -- President Obama plans to meet with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev at the White House on June 24.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says the two will explore new areas where the two countries could cooperate, including trade, investment and innovation.
This week, Russia sided with the United States and voted to impose a new round of U.N. sanctions on Iran over its disputed nuclear program. The U.S. and Russia signed a new START nuclear arms reduction treaty earlier this year.
Obama and Medvedev will meet a few days before the G-8 and G-20 economic summits in Canada.
