Next step on the road to peace

(Dresden) Special Envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell will travel to the region next week, announced President Obama Friday morning in Germany.
A day after his speech to the Muslim world, Mr. Obama says Mitchell's trip will serve as a follow up to that speech with regional leaders.
Aides characterize the trip as a continuum of the President's efforts "since day one" on getting the peace process going.
Senior administration officials say Mitchell has the President's full confidence and that the President looks forward to hearing the results of his trip.
Mr. Obama spoke at a news conference in Dresden, Germany, with his counterpart, Angela Merkel.
