"Does anyone have a Valium?"

That comment came from an exasparated Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) after listening to several minutes of intense verbal sparring between House Rules Committee Chairwoman Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) and Rep. David Dreier (D-Calif.), the top Republican on the Rules panel, as they debated efforts to bring a temporary spending bill to the floor tonight to prevent a government shutdown over the weekend.
