Krauthammer on Trump and Clinton: '[This is] an election between the two most increasingly unpopular candidates ever'

Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said Friday on “Special Report with Bret Baier” that in the wake of a 2005 tape just released that shows Trump speaking crudely about women as well as a new Clinton email dump, both candidates are cast in a highly negative light.

“None of this is surprising. If somebody had asked you about Trump, ‘Do you think he talks like this in private,’ you would answer, ‘Of course, yes.’ But it's hearing it,” Krauthammer said, “This is what video audio evidence does. Once you hear it, it becomes information of a different order.”

Krauthammer went on to say the same rule applies to emails that show Clinton admitting she takes both a public and private position on various issues.

“Everybody knows that on every issue, she has a private position and a public. If they intersect, that's nice. But if it doesn't, that's the way she operates,” Krauthammer said, adding, “But when you hear her say it, admit it, say it in a speech in public, it becomes evidence.”

Krauthammer said that this is a presidential race between “two of the most increasingly unpopular candidates ever.”

With her, it's about policy. With him, it's about temperament and attitude towards women. And I don't think either of them is defensible in any way.”
