Rove: IRS targeting of 'Crossroads' no coincidence Video

Karl Rove slammed the faculty of Rutgers University Thursday night for its protest over the selection of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as the school’s commencement speaker, telling Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren the move is ignorant and childish.

The former Deputy Chief of Staff to President George W. Bush said on “On the Record” the Rutgers New Brunswick Faculty Council’s resolution, which calls on the university's board of governors to rescind its invitation to Rice, is a disgrace.

“This is the left-wing views of I hope a minority of the Rutgers faculty working out their angst in a childish and, I repeat, fraudulent way,” Rove said.

Rove said it is shameful that university faculty would seek to silence a graduation speaker with a background such as Rice’s just because they disagree with her political beliefs.

“It shows their ignorance, it shows their political bias, it shows their cheap attempt to denigrate a respected leader of our country – the former secretary of state – for their own narrow, ideological, left-wing views and shame on them,” he said.
