Dream Act Coalition to Deliver Signatures to Arizona GOP: MyFoxPHOENIX.com
A group of Arizona Latinos, hoping to keep their dream alive, are trying to convince Republican lawmakers to revive the DREAM Act.
They already collected 7,000 signatures online. Now they hope to get another thousand on paper.
The group plans to turn in the signatures to the Arizona Republican Party headquarters on Monday.
They're also working on getting more Latinos registered to vote.
"We have to be ready for the elections and we're working the Presidential candidates and we're going to go after those who voted on the DREAM Act and hold them accountable as well," said DREAM Act supporter Erika Andiola.
The DREAM Act was a measure that would've granted a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants brought into the country as children who graduate from college or serve in the military.
