WASHINGTON -- A federal judge has sentenced a contractor who bribed former U.S. Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham to more than two years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The contractor, Mitchell Wade, was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Ricardo Urbina on Monday.

Wade pleaded guilty in 2006 to giving Cunningham more than $1 million in kickbacks, a yacht dubbed "The Duke-stir" and other gifts in exchange for about $150 million in government contracts.

Prosecutors said he helped them convict Cunningham, a Republican, who is serving an eight-year prison sentence for accepting $2.4 million in bribes from defense contractors.
