After weeks of waiting, Solicitor General Elena Kagan finally has her confirmation hearing to become the next Supreme Court associate justice. We’ll be following her every step of the way before her 12:30 p.m. ET confirmation hearing with the Senate Judiciary Committee. Monday’s session will begin with opening statements from all committee members. At approximately 3:45 p.m. ET, Kagan will offer her opening statement.

In other Hill action, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., delivers a speech on national security at Washington, DC think tank the Center for Strategic & International Studies at 11:00 a.m. ET.
