Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga’s near-perfect game was lost with two outs in the ninth inning when umpire Jim Joyce blew a call at first base. Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig could reverse the call and award Galarraga his "perfect game"; or, the scoring decision could be changed from a hit to an error, thus preserving a no-hitter.
