We talked to celebrity stylist and fashion guru Tim Gunn about the 10 essential items that every woman should own. Here’s his complete list:
- Basic black dress
- Dress pants
- Classic white shirt
- Dark-wash jeans
- Blazer (great for dressing up jeans and a t-shirt)
- Trench coat (wear it to the grocery store or the opera)
- Cashmere sweater (cashmere has become very affordable and will not pill)
- Day dress
- Skirt (should be knee-length, or two to three inches above or below the knee)
- Sweat suit alternative (something you can put on in place of sweats)
