Man injected with HIV as baby doing well more than 20 years later

When he was just 11 months old, Brryan Jackson suffered a tragic attack when his father injected him with HIV-tainted blood in an attempt to avoid paying child support.

After the attack in 1992, Jackson was given only five months to live. But he defied the odds and now, more than 20 years later, he says he has a positive spirit and has even forgiven his father, Fox 2 News reported.

“I think there is salvation for everyone, and I find myself praying for my father’s salvation,” Jackson said.

Jackson developed AIDS at the age of 5 and has had a bumpy road to recovery. According to Fox 2 Now, one of his medications caused him to lose 70 percent of his hearing when he was a toddler. He said at one point, he even became suicidal.

“I had three knives in front of me but I realized there is hope, and it’s not about what you have it’s what you can give,” Jackson said.

Now at the age of 22, Jackson is in college and is thinking of a career in church ministry or politics – or maybe even the health care industry. He says his Christian faith ultimately helped him to stay positive throughout his life.
