Breastfeeding mom penalized for bringing child to court

Jury duty isn't most people's favorite thing, but imagine getting the summons when you're a new mom and can't leave your baby.

That's the case for one Missouri mom, and now her stand is landing her a court date of her own at a Jackson County courthouse.

Laura Trickle is fighting a charge of contempt of court -- all because she breastfeeds and can't leave her son behind to serve jury duty.

But that didn't get her off the hook, so she appeared for jury selection, with her baby, hoping the judge would grant an exemption.

Instead he gave two options -- pump during breaks, or bring someone to watch baby Axel and breastfeed on breaks.
