Boy Hit By Foul Ball on Road to Recovery

Published November 20, 2014

Fox News

A 5-year-old boy is beating the odds after being hit in the head by a foul ball at a minor league baseball game last fall.

Luke Holko was at the Scrappers game on September 2, sitting in the front row behind first base with his family, when he was hit in the head, WJW Fox 8 reported.

The impact put him in a coma and he could not move for months.

But after almost a year of receiving medical care and rehab, Luke is now able to walk and talk.

His dad, Chad Holko, says he is overjoyed with his son's progress. "I feel like we have our son back." Luke's mom, Nicole Holko, shares the same emotions about Luke's recovery.

"For me it was when after not hearing him talk for four months, he said, Mom I love you!"
