Raki, an anise-flavored liquor is Turkey’s national drink that was favored by Ataturk, the first President of the Republic of Turkey. This clear liquid, usually mixed with water to turn it milky white, is meant to be enjoyed among friends, revolutionaries or even rebels while sharing food or tailgating.

Pomegranate syrup to taste

Preparation:

Combine Raki and cold water. Pour pomegranate syrup over a spoon, so it floats through drink.
