North Carolina couple arrested for assaulting each other with pizza rolls

Samantha Canipe, left, and Brad Beard of Gastonia were involved in a domestic dispute that resulting in the couple "assaulting" each other with pizza rolls.

A couple from North Carolina was arrested and taken into custody on July 4, after assaulting each other with pizza rolls.

According to Fox 59, Gastonia Police were called to the home of Brad Beard and Samantha Canipe around 1:30 a.m. where they discovered the couple “assaulted each other by throwing pizza roles [sic] at each other.”

It’s unclear how the fight started, or how many rolls were thrown during the altercation. The brand of pizza rolls was not mentioned in the police report.

Beard and Canipe were taken into custody and both charged with one count each of misdemeanor simple assault after being booked into the Gaston County Jail. Both perpetrators were released on a $2,500 bond, according to jail records.

Police say Beard faces up to 60 days in jail while Canipe faces up to 30 days in jail.
