In Aspen, Colo. the Little Nell Hotel is a ski-in hotel that aims to warm its patrons up without weighing them down – relying on spice and and boozy heat to do the job usually reserved for high temperatures. Food and beverage director Sabato Sagaria breaks out local Leopold Brother's Georgia Peach Whiskey for the base of a sweet and spicy cocktail combining ginger, sweet vermouth and maraschino liqueur and a surprisingly well-balanced mix that manages to walk to fine line between deliciously sweet and spicy and cloying. The rich flavors manage to gird the skiers against the cold despite being a refreshingly chilled drink.

Ingredients:
2 Oz Leopold Bros. Georgia Peach Whiskey
? Ounce maraschino
? Ounce sweet vermouth
Ginger beer
Preparation:
Combine all the ingredients except the ginger beer in a shaker full of ice and shake gently to combine and chill. Strain into a tall glass of ice and top off with the ginger beer. But perhaps wait an hour or so before hitting the slopes again.
