Nobody’s expecting you to serve anything but hot dogs and hamburgers at your Fourth of July cookout, but that’s no reason to merely “meet” expectations.
This Fourth, why not exceed expectations with a patriotic feast just bursting with reds, whites and blue(berrie)s?
Weber “master griller” Jamie Purviance stopped by “Fox & Friends” to share his top tips for adding patriotic pizzazz to a Fourth of July cookout — and he went way beyond burgers and dogs.
Purviance, who authored the “Weber’s Greatest Hits” cookbook featuring 125 of the company’s greatest grill recipes, offered up a truly remarkable spread of “red steak, white fish, and blueberry cobbler.”

In addition to his recipe suggestions, Purviance tossed out a few pointers for grilling steaks and fish to perfection, along with tips for baking a blueberry dessert with nothing but a barbecue grill.
“If you want to use your grill as an oven, you absolutely can,” said Purviance, pointing to a hot skillet of gooey blueberry cobbler as evidence.
