Sofia Vergara gushes about boyfriend Joe Manganiello, has awkward run-in with ex

Fans of “True Blood” hunk Joe Manganiello are not the only ones who cannot stop looking at him. It seems like his just as striking girlfriend Sofia Vergara seems a little star-struck.
“To me, he’s like another species,” the Colombian bombshell told the ladies at the TODAY show on Tuesday. “I look at him, and it’s like I feel like I am in the movie ‘E.T.’ Remember? When an alien lands, and I’m the one who gets to play with it.”
Vergara, who opened up her past with thyroid cancer during the appearance, said she is very lucky.
“I can’t complain. I’m 42, girls,” she quipped.
TODAY host Jenna Bush Hager asked, “When I turn 42, I too could have him?” to which Vergara said “Not him!”
Vergara and Manganiello, 37, have been dating since the summer.
The “Modern Family” actress revealed that it has been great, but the paparazzi won’t stop following them around.
“It’s a little too crazy,” she said, adding that she wants to enjoy new things with her new beau without photographers always around.
Photographers were also around this week when Vergara had an awkward run-in with ex-fiancé Nick Loeb at the Angel Ball in New York City.
The actress was posing for photographers and doing interviews on Monday when the Onion Crunch founder awkwardly crept behind her – and she appeared to be unaware of his presence.
An eyewitness told Us Weekly that he whispered in her ear: “Good to see you.”
Sources said the actress appeared to remain composed, but also seemed shocked.
Vergara and Loeb ended their engagement in May, and months later she started dating Manganiello.
