Seth Rogen, other stars rip Ray Rice and NFL

Brutal footage emerged Monday morning that showed Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice punching his then-fiancée (now wife) Janay Palmer, and Seth Rogen quickly took to Twitter to criticize the footballer and the NFL for how the situation has been handled.

Rogen later tweeted at NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: “your punishment for beating a woman is less than for smoking weed. Get your head out of your f---ing ass.”

Current and former sports stars also reacted to the footage.

The NFL suspended Rice for two games during the season, including Sunday's opening day loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Rice avoided jail time by entering a pretrial diversionary program.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced harsher penalties for domestic abuse, telling league owners in a letter last month that he "didn't get it right" in Rice's case.
