Palace officials say Prince William and his wife, Duchess Kate Middleton, will travel to New Zealand and Australia in the spring, but the youngest royal may accompany them in their journey down under.

Kensington Palace said Thursday it is “anticipated” their son Prince George will accompany his parents, but that a final decision will be made “in due course.”

The palace announced the trip will take place in April 2014 as part of an invitation by the New Zealand and Australian governments.

While Middleton hasn’t been to either country, William’s last visit was in March 2011 shortly after an earthquake hit Christchurch and floods impacted parts of Queensland and Victoria.

For this highly anticipated trip, we don’t expect baby George to show off the family gown, as he sported during his christening in October.

Further details on the exact date and itinerary also will be disclosed "in due course," Palace officials said.
