NRA crowd roars at famous sheriff’s suggested ’7 words to add to Second Amendment’

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. was a huge hit Friday at the NRA’s annual meeting, telling attendees he’d like to add seven words to the Second Amendment.
What are the seven words?
“Keep your hands off our guns, dammit.”
The sheriff is best known for a radio ad last year that urged Milwaukee County residents to learn to safely handle firearms to defend themselves while waiting for police, according to Fox News.

Clarke’s comment on adding seven words to the Second Amendment was in response to former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, who wrote that he would add five — “when serving in the militia.”
“My reaction was, ‘What!’” Clarke said. ”Just what part of ‘shall not be infringed’ does Justice Stevens not understand?”
Saying he was “tired of seeing the Second Amendment treated like the bastard child of the Bill of Rights,” Clarke told those gathered they “possess the means, under the… Second Amendment, to keep government in check.”
“The armed citizen made America free and the armed citizen will keep America free!” he declared.
