An Indiana petrol-head with a need for speed has given kids a reason to get up in the morning — he’s built a jet powered school bus that can travel up to 367 mph!
The amazing yellow bus dubbed “School Time” was created by Paul Stender and his build team, Indy Boys, Barcroft Media reports.
“The entire vehicle was custom-built by myself because there’s no way the original bus could have withstood the speeds I take it to,” he said. “A lot of it is hand-crafted and the types of metals used would be more at home on an aircraft.”
Stunned onlookers who get to watch the bus and it’s GE J-79 jet engine in action were greeted with 80 ft flames that blasted out the back from the afterburner. The gas tank can guzzle up to 150 gallons of fuel in just a single run, according to Barcroft.
