Jenna Bush Hager and husband welcome daughter named after George H. W. Bush

Jenna Bush Hager and her husband Henry Hager welcomed their second child on Thursday. The couple announced the birth of their daughter Friday morning on the "Today" show.

They named their daughter Poppy Louise Hager after Bush's grandfather, former president George H. W. Bush, whose childhood nickname was Poppy.

"Welcome to the WORLD Poppy Louise Hager--named after my darling Gamps who went by Poppy during his childhood. We are in LOVE," Bush wrote on Instagram.

"We are proud to name her after a man we so adore," Hager said on the "Today" show.

The couple explained that their daughter's middle name is in honor of their grandmothers' middle names, Louise and Lewis.

Poppy joins big sister Mila, 2.
