Emily Maynard: 'Bachelorette' days were 'one of darkest times in my life'

Reality star Emily Maynard may have appeared on both “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” but she is relieved those days are behind her.

In an interview with Charlotte, North Carolina, news station WCCB she recalled those stints as “one of the darkest times of my life,” and was unhappy with the intense media scrutiny.

Maynard is much happier leading a more normal life. “I’m just happy to have that in the past,” she confessed.

"I would watch [the show] and think 'I should have done this, done that.' And having everything blow up in my face a couple times and go through a public embarrassment a couple times, it wasn't ideal."

The 28-year-old jewelry designer recently announced that she’s expecting a baby boy with husband Tyler Johnson.
