'Duck Dynasty's' Sadie Robertson defends faith, family on 'DWTS'

Nearly the entire Robertson clan joined Sadie Robertson on "Dancing With the Stars" Monday night to support the 17-year-old high school student.
Sadie's father Willie and uncles Jase, Si and Jep, along with her camo-clad dance partner Mark Ballas, started off the performance using duck calls.
The routine, which earned Ballas and Sadie a nearly perfect score of 37 out of 40, exemplified the Robertson's most cherished values: Family and faith.
In a clip aired prior to the performance, Sadie, whose "DWTS" costumes are all dad-approved, said her life was turned upside down in 2012 when "Duck Dynasty" first aired.
"I was 14 and I didn't realize how big it was going to be," she said. "But there's definitely been some bad things about being in the public eye."
But sticking true to her Robertson roots, Sadie said her family and faith helped through the negative side effects of fame.
"Everybody knows who you are and they're looking for you to mess up," she said. "My grandpa said some things that upset some people and the press came after him.
"My family would not be where we are without our faith. That's what's carried us this whole way," she continued. "You know, we put our faith in God and we like to share that with everybody."
Sadie revealed that things got so bad after her grandfather Phil's comments about homosexuality to GQ magazine in Dec. 2013, the Robertsons considered quitting the show all together.
"The thing is, no matter what he would have said, we should have stuck by him, because he's my grandpa," Sadie said. "Yeah, he's very opinionated, but he's my family, and family sticks together."
