From Morgan Freeman voice-overs and Bruce Springsteen concerts, to Oprah endorsements and George Clooney fundraisers, the Obama camp can call up A-list celebrities, $30mil movie stars, mega watt, platinum record musicians, the very same names and personalities that dominate the pages of People Magazine and US Weekly, and the box office blockbusters that people put down $20/ticket to see.
But do they matter? Can they move the needle? What role do celebrities play in a political campaign?
