Ashlee Simpson Files for Divorce From Pete Wentz, Report Says

Singer Ashlee Simpson has just filed for divorce from her husband, Fall Out Boy musician Pete Wentz, TMZ reports.

According to TMZ, Simpson cites “irreconcilable differences” in papers filed at the L.A. County Superior Court Wednesday. The couple has been married since May of 2008.

Simpson is asking for joint legal custody, as well as primary physical custody of their two-year-old son Bronx.

The singer, who was slammed for her now-infamous lip-synching performance on “Saturday Night Live” in October 2004, is also asking for spousal and child support from Wentz.

The couple does not have a prenuptial agreement, TMZ reports.

Simpson’s sister Jessica announced her engagement to former NFL player Eric Johnson late last year.
