Survey finds moms don't really want minivans

Moms don’t drive minivans anymore.
That is, unless they really need them.
A survey of mothers conducted by new car pricing website TrueCar.com found that of the top 10 cars owned by women with at least one child, just one minivan made it onto the list.
The Honda Odyssey minivan ranked number three behind its little sister, the Honda CR-V and the Nissan Altima, while the Subaru Outback, Honda Pilot, Volkswagen Jetta, Nissan Rogue, Honda Accord, Honda Civic and Nissan Sentra rounded out the list.
Add a few kids to the equation, however, and the picture changes. Among moms with two children, the Odyssey moves to the top spot, but the rest of the top five are crossovers and sedans. For those with three or more kids, however, three minivans make the list along with the Honda Pilot, which is an 8-passenger vehicle that looks like a truck, but shares its platform with the Odyssey.
The data suggests that today’s moms have a preference for vehicles “that combine practicality and style,” according to the website. Something their significant others might want to keep in mind if they were planning to pick up a new set of wheels this weekend.
