Porsche Design and Adidas try to score with co-branded soccer cleats

Soccer fans should get a kick out of Porsche’s latest model.

The automaker’s style subsidiary, Porsche Design, has teamed up with Adidas on a set of luxurious cleats that are said to be inspired by the company’s iconic 911 sports car.

The black and copper PDS X boots are made from hydrophobic, tear-resistant kangaroo leather and use a sole plate similar to that used on Adidas’ line of Leo Messi line signature footwear.

While it’s unlikely the Barcelona star will lace up a pair of these, as he’s currently under contract with Jaguar parent company Tata Motors, he’d probably enjoy their “glove-like fit” and the “ultimate ball control” Adidas says they provide.

The limited-edition Adidas are on sale now for a very Porsche-like $300. Of course, if driving is more your thing, the pair also offer several shoes more suitable for that, but don’t expect any economy car pricing.
