Dario Franchitti is heading back to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but this time his job is to slow things down.

The three-time Indy 500 winner has been chosen to drive the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 pace car at this year’s running of the Memorial Day weekend classic.

Franchitti’s career was cut short last year after a devastating last lap crash at a race in Houston in October left him with a fractured spine and neurological damage caused by a serious concussion.

Fox Car Report’s Gary Gastelu talked to him about his recovery, the issue of concussions in motorsports, and what it means to him to get back on track at The Brickyard.
