Toronto Mayor Rob Ford to return to work June 30 after rehab stint

Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford will return to work June 30 after a two-month stint in rehab.

Ford is at a treatment facility in Muskoka, Ontario, the Toronto Sun reported.

In a letter to the city clerk released Tuesday, Ford says he will resume his duties as mayor "in the later portion of the afternoon."

“Please make the necessary arrangements for my office locks to be restored to their state prior to my departure, for 1 p.m. on the date of my return," he wrote to the clerk, according to the newspaper.

Ford is in rehab for alcohol addiction after announcing in April that he was seeking treatment. He made the decision after another video surfaced that apparently showed him smoking crack.

Ford admitted last year after reports of a similar video that he had smoked crack in a "drunken stupor," following months of denials.

While in rehab, Ford told the Toronto Sun that he is "feeling good" and "can't wait to get back."

The mayor of Canada's largest city plans to address several matters on his agenda upon his return and has not abandoned his bid to seek a second term in October.
