The four men charged with helping Al Qaeda-linked militants attack a Kenya shopping mall appeared in court Wednesday for the beginning of their trial.

According to Reuters, Mohamed Ahmed Abdi, Liban Abdullah Omar, Hussein Hassan and Adan Mohamed Ibrahim are accused of giving support and shelter to gunmen who killed at least 67 people during the terror attack at Nairobi's Westgate Mall that started on Sept. 21.

Prosecutors claim the men committed a "terrorist act" under the country's anti-terrorism laws and used false documents, the report said.

The men deny all charges.

Stephen Juma, a guard at the mall, told the court he saw three gunmen jump out of a car that pulled up outside the mall. One immediately killed a shopper, he said.

"I couldn't recognize them since they had covered their heads and faces with black head scarves," Juma said, according to Reuters.

All of the gunmen died in the attack, Kenya police said.
