An inmate has been accused of sexually assaulting a fellow prisoner in a court cell while both were waiting to be taken back to jail.

Citing documents, The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/2fWiVZ1) reports that 36-year-old Jerome M. Holliway is charged with first-degree sexual abuse after the assault was captured Friday on security cameras at D.C. Superior Court.

Holliway and the victim had both appeared before a judge on separate charges and were inside the cell when a witness told officers Holliway choked and punched his cellmate before sexually assaulting him. The Associated Press does not identify sexual-assault victims.

U.S. Marshals Service spokesman David Neumann says the agency is conducting an internal review. District police are also investigating.

The Post said no one returned a call seeking comment from the D.C. Public Defender Service, which represents Holliway.
