An Amtrak train collided with a semi truck in Texas on Monday night, just hours after a deadly Amtrak derailment in Washington state.
Union Pacific Railroad, which owns the Texas tracks, said the crash happened in San Marcos, Texas, around 8 p.m. local time, Fox 7 Austin reported.
None of the 150 passengers and crew on board were harmed, Amtrak spokesman Jeff DeGraff told KXAN. No information on the truck's occupants was immediately available.
The back end of the semi was destroyed and the truck was later towed from the scene, DeGraff said. The tracks were then inspected and approved for use.
The train, which was traveling to San Antonio from Chicago, resumed its journey by 9:25 p.m.
Earlier Monday, an Amtrak train carrying 70 passengers between Seattle and Portland derailed near Tacoma, killing at least three passengers.
