The Latest: Escaped teen is murder suspect, still on run

The Latest on the escape of four teenagers from a juvenile detention center in southern New Jersey. (all times local):

The teenager who remains on the run after escaping with three others from a youth detention center in southern New Jersey is a murder suspect.

Authorities say Michael Huggins is charged in the 2016 slaying of Devonte Lee, who was gunned down while sitting in a vehicle.

The state police fugitive task force is concentrating its search for Huggins in the area of South Woods State Prison and in Bridgeton.

Authorities captured the other three teens in the town Wednesday, more than nine hours after they fled from the Harborfields Youth Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City, 36 miles (58 kilometers) away.

The Atlantic County sheriff's office said the youths overpowered a guard and drove off in the guard's car. They sideswiped a vehicle and crashed into a home before they ran off.

The guard was taken to a hospital and officials say he is expected to be OK.

Authorities have captured three of four teenagers who overpowered a corrections officer and escaped from a youth detention facility in southern New Jersey.

Authorities found Donovan Nickerson, Raymir Lampkin and Stephine Woodley in Bridgeton on Wednesday, more than nine hours after they fled from the Harborfields Youth Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City, about 36 miles (58 kilometers) away.

Michael Huggins remains at large.

The Atlantic County Sheriff's Office says the youths drove off in the guard's car, sideswiped a vehicle and crashed into a home before they ran off. Two were wearing only underwear.

The guard was taken to a hospital and officials say he is expected to be OK.

One of the suspects is 18, one is 17 and two are 16-years-old.

Sixteen schools in the area are closed.
