The FBI is investigating a Huffington Post scribe for joking about “destroying Trump ballots” at a Washington, DC voting site, the reporter claimed.
Nick Baumann said it all began with a joke the feds didn’t find particularly amusing.
On Oct. 31, 2016, Baumann sent the following tweet:
@lachlan i love my job working at a voting site in washington dc destroying trump ballots
— Nick Baumann (@NickBaumann) October 31, 2016
The next day, he said his tweet was “a joking reference” to an internet-conspiracy of a man claiming to be tearing up Trump ballots.
Days later, on Nov. 4, Baumann, a senior enterprise editor for the site, said he got a call from the FBI — but thinking it was a crank call, he never called back.
