TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey police are searching for a man accused of the shooting death of a woman during an attempted robbery of three passengers in a vehicle operating under the ride-hailing service Lyft on Wednesday night.
Officials say the unknown assailant jumped into the back of the car in Trenton and demanded money from the passengers.
A gunshot was fired and the suspect fled as the Lyft driver sped off.
Amber Dudley was struck in the torso. She was then taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
No further names have been provided.
The investigation is ongoing.
