A 13-year-old boy was shot on Wednesday while he was sleeping in his bed in Massachusetts.

Officials say the Chelsea boy was shot in the shoulder. The bullet came through the third-floor apartment window fired from the street and hit him.

The child was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition, according to NECN-TV.

The shooting happened near Bunker Hill Community College's Chelsea Campus. The school said on Twitter that the campus was on lockdown for about 30 minutes due to the incident.
