TOLEDO, Ohio – A man has been charged with aggravated murder in the death of an Ohio college student who disappeared last week while riding her bicycle.
A sheriff's investigator filed a criminal complaint Tuesday accusing 57-year-old James Worley of aggravated murder. He was arrested Friday on an abduction charge in the disappearance of 20-year-old University of Toledo student Sierah Joughin (JOH-gihn).
Authorities found remains they believe to be Joughin's in a cornfield about 20 miles outside the city.
Meanwhile, investigators near Toledo have been looking into the possibility of additional victims.
That's because the circumstances are similar to a 1990 abduction attempt near Toledo when a woman fought off her attacker. Worley was convicted and spent three years in prison in that abduction.
He has rejected interview requests. His attorney declined to comment.
