A 16-year-old Philadelphia boy has been charged as an adult with fatally shooting a 15-year-old and wounding two other boys after an argument over a playground basketball game.

Joshua Richardson was arrested Thursday on charges including murder and two counts of attempted homicide in the July 11 shooting at a playground in southwest Philadelphia.

Detectives say Richardson came out of an alley and fatally shot Tyhir Barnes in the face and wounded two other boys, ages 14 and 16.

Police believe Richardson and the teens had argued about the result of another basketball game the week before and Richardson was angered by resulting trash talk.

Richardson's public defender could not immediately be reached for comment Friday. Richardson faces a preliminary hearing Aug. 10.
