Child dies after being shot in fight between dad, neighbors

DETROIT – Police say a young girl has died after being shot in the head during a fight between her father and neighbors in Detroit.

Police say the girl, age 2 or 3, died Thursday morning. She was shot Wednesday evening while sitting in a car with her father on the city's east side.

The girl's name has not been released.

The Detroit News reports that investigators are searching for a 31-year-old man suspected in the shooting. They say he's considered armed and dangerous and may still be in the Detroit area.

The Detroit Free Press reports that police say two people have been taken into custody in the investigation.
